Covered Outdoor Areas for Year-Round Entertainment

Whether you’re a designer or end user, covered outdoor areas provide the perfect setting to relax and entertain year-round. These solutions not only let you enjoy the warmer weather, but they give you the flexibility to extend time outside in the rain, wind, or other inclement conditions. Read on to learn how outdoor shelters provide an ideal solution for a wide range of areas.

Shelters for Your Commercial OUTDOOR Area

Outdoor shelters offer everything you need to bring the comforts of the inside outside with style, whether it’s in your hotel, restaurant, pool deck or other space. There are many benefits to using a covered shelter for outdoor dining.

Louvers

Louvers provide protection from the sun and rain while still allowing natural light to come through. They also help to keep your shelter area warm when it is cold outside. Because a louvered roof design keeps out the rain and wind, you can stay dry and warm while you dine and relax. At Shelter Outdoor, our shelters feature rotating louvered roofs with integrated rain gutters. The louvers collect rainwater and drain it unnoticeably into side poles; this design ensures that no water or debris can enter.

Many louvers, like the ones at Shelter Outdoor, also use an automated opening and closing system. This convenient mechanism allows you to adjust the amount of light entering the space. This automation is available as a rain and snow sensor.

Check our the standard louver colors available or opt for a custom RAL color to match your branding or site specific needs.

Screens- Only S2000XL

Many outdoor shelters also feature optional motorized screens seamlessly integrated into the frame. A remote control allows you to easily open and close the screen as needed. Our frame-mounted screens allow you to customize the level of light and air entering the space, creating an atmosphere that’s perfect for al fresco dining or entertaining. Screened shelters also provide effective UV protection from the sun’s rays, allowing your guests to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about harmful sun exposure.

Besides light and ventilation, screens also offer protection from the elements as well as pests. From bold patterns to warm wood tones, these accessories are available in a variety of colors and styles that allow you to customize your shelter’s look and feel to your own preference.

Lighting

Lighting is an essential element in any covered outdoor dining area. With the LED lights found in Shelter Outdoor’s shelters, you can create a beautiful and inviting atmosphere for your guests.

Not only does this lighting provide a warm, comfortable glow, but it also helps to reduce energy costs. LED lights are long-lasting and durable, with an average lifespan of 50,000 hours or more – that’s over five years of continuous use!
You can easily adjust the brightness level as well as the color temperature of your LED lighting to ensure optimal comfort and visibility.

Spotlights can be added to the roof beams, and designed for each project as needed. Adjust the amount of spot lights to light the whole space or mix and match lighting options and just add a few lights here and there.

In-frame Lighting is available in  both white and RGB lighting. This integrated lighting option provides a glow of light that can be direct up towards the roof or down towards the ground. Craft the atmosphere you need for your guest by mixing and matching the lighting options together.

LED lighting in louvers is available in standard louver colors, custom RAL colors and wood-look aluminum louvers. Add as many or as few LED louvers as needed available in white or RGB lighting options.

Heating

Heating is another important factor in ensuring a comfortable environment for your covered outdoor dining area. Not only does heating provide comfort and warmth during colder evenings, but it also helps to reduce moisture buildup within the shelter. This prevents mold growth and unpleasant odors over time.

With the adjustable heating found in our outdoor shelters, you can easily control the temperature of your dining area to suit any season or weather condition. This on-demand heating system is energy-efficient, as it only operates when needed.

As a bonus, our shelters are designed with insulated frames and roofing materials to ensure consistent heat levels regardless of the outside temperature. With the added bonus of integrating the heaters in the frame of the pergola for a seamless look.

Customization

One of the best things about Shelter Outdoor’s covered custom shelters is that they are designed and fabricated to fit the needs of your project flawlessly. Choose from stand-alone or wall mount outdoor shelters in modular designs to accommodate the size of your space. Simply provide architectural drawings of your patio, pool deck, rooftop terrace, or other outdoor area, and our designers will configure an outdoor shelter just for you.

How to Create specific layouts that work for you

Whether you’re looking for a small or large shade solutions, Shelter Outdoor has exactly what you need. Our shelters provide all the comforts of an indoor setting with the added convenience and protection of a covered outdoor area.

Typical stand alone models are available with 4 post and the maximum dimensions available for that series. Be sure to check the maximum dimensions to know if the 4 post model is right for you. These models are also available with an overhang. An over hang can be up to 1/3 the length of the pergola.

Check with your Shelter team to see if the size needed will be a coupled roof with 4 post. Larger dimensions can be accommodated with 2 sets of louvers and only 4 post. Add customized options of screen and doors to the Shelter system by adding additional post that these options can mount in to. This is great for keeping full coverage screens and making space for an outside element that can not be covered like a fireplace or outdoor kitchen.

Our 1600XL shelter series is limited to extending in one direction only. This is great for small and linear spaces. Coupling models means that two separate units can share middle post on one side to help extend the maximum dimension for coverage. Our 2000XL shelter series can be coupled in both directions; making this series great for larger spaces that need to have both width and length dimensions extended.

Learn more about how these models can be applied to the specific project needs by reviewing the brochures and working with our designers.
